Cool Software / Technology
COOL SOFTWARE / TECHNOLOGY is what I live on on the computer, being the geek that I am. The stuff that I find the most useful or that has changed the way I work or my life the most (hopefully) makes its way onto this site.
I've written about the following notable pieces of software and technology:
- Anki, a program for memorizing things. I've written the scripts AnkiBackup and AnkiLPCG to back up Anki and create cloze deletions for poetry and songs, respectively.
- NetHack, a part-puzzle, part-RPG, part-roguelike, part-genius game that I enjoy. I've done some instructional TTYRECS (maybe better known in many games as "Let's Play," only probably longer and more involved), I offer a couple of downloads of NetHack-related things that have otherwise slipped off the Web, and I once ran a survey on "Gender Identity and Roleplay in NetHack."
- Useful and Interesting Websites, a resource that sorely needs updating but might be "useful or interesting" nonetheless.
- LastPass: have a look at the security page for more information.
- Five Really Cool Chrome (and Firefox) Extensions.
